The Jaguar E type Series 1 was introduced in 1961 taking some design cues from the D type. It had a carburetted 3.8 liter six-cylinder from the XK150S. It is considered to be one of the best looking cars ever made. The Series 1 ultimately led to the Series 2 and 3 and the engine displacement increased to a V12 configuration.
